Show your love for Maine by wearing a Casco Bay T-shirt. The custom map is the bay at Portland Maine and is a dye sublimation print, therefore the graphic will not crack or peel. The embedded dye is fused with the fabric making the artwork as durable as the fabric, which is combed ringspun cotton jersey. This garment will look great, wash after wash. The fabric is super soft and comfortable because of the tri-blend fabric which runs pretty true to size.

History of Casco Bay
Now a little information on Casco Bay, which is an inlet of the Gulf of Maine and lies on the southern coast of Maine, New England, USA. Its easternmost approach is Cape Small and its westernmost approach is Two Lights in Cape Elizabeth. The city of Portland sits along its southern edge and the Port of Portland is in the middle. There are two theories on the origin of the name “Casco Bay”:
- One is Aucocisco, the Abenaki Native American’s name for the bay, which means ‘place of herons’.
- Two is Bay “Bahía de Cascos”, the Portuguese explorer Estêvão Gomes name, which means ‘Bay of Helmets’, based on the shape of the bay. Maine’s coast was mapped in 1525.
The t-shirt is a soft tri-blend material of 65% polyester/35% combed ringspun cotton jersey, which has been pre-washed reducing shrinkage. The graphic printing uses sublimation, which is the process of transferring dye to a fabric using heat. Our custom graphic is printed on special paper, then placed on the garment where heat is applied allowing the ink to become part of the fabric.
